Wedding item of the year is not really a category you hear much outside the wedding industry but such is the phenomenal success of the photo booth that it’s now crossing over into main stream venues, such as comedy clubs across Dublin, all manner of nightclubs and festivals the length and breathe of the country. Since their understated arrival less than five years ago to the wedding market, their popularity has soared from the year of year. It’s now that popular that it’s estimated 1 in every 4 weddings had a photo booth in 2014. Over the years many items and ideas have come and gone in trends and the weddings industry epitomise that more than most, from fire breathers to chocolate fountains to chinese lanterns, all had massive impact and created a great buzz when they first arrived, however nothing has been seen like the photo booth with its ever changing outer skins and styles, endless uploading possibilities and it’s other members of the “booth family” in the video booth and the next big thing the selfie pod. A typical wedding, for many would normally consist of some guest at the bar for the night, a few sitting trying to have a catch up and the rest “dancing” however the wedding landscape has been changed forever with the guest friendly photo booth encapsulating all the right elements of friends and family old and new interacting and enjoying dressing up and letting their hair down. Also they are a beautiful way to capture the natural close genuine moments between family and friends that you might not see often.
Either way There’s no doubt the photo booth craze is here to stay and take over the wedding and party scene for a very long time, so whether it’s booked to keep guest entertained throughout the day, or as the focal point of the evenings theme or entertainment, the wedding product of the year is here to stay and will keep evolving as brides continue to create original wedding ideas.
